Hi Boys and Girls,
Welcome to Grade Two. It was fun meeting you on Move-Up Day. I am proud of you for remembering to visit our class website. We will be using it frequently.
Please check here again in August for new information about the 2015-2016 school year in room 223 at Taft ELC. Until then, look on the supply page for needed items and remember to read and practice your addition and subtraction facts. Have a fun summer!

Wonderful Wild Turkey Habitats
Boys and Girls, You did a great job learning that a habitat provides for all the needs of an animal. You also learned about turkey facts vs opinion, read challenging articles, and you wrote research-based essays about how habitats help turkeys to survive. I hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving with your families as much as I enjoyed doing these projects with you.

Snowy Morning Small Moments Narratives
The details in your stories are as beautiful as the ones in the snowflakes you made! I love the way you remembered to include what you smelled, tasted, felt and saw on our first snowy morning.
Thank you Mrs. Lannigan for helping to mount these.

Happy Veterens Day
You honored our veterens by writing great letters, making posters and giving presentations about our country's heroes. John and Chris Jesberger, served in Afghanistan. They were so happy to get your messages.

Boys and Girls, I love the way you began your haunted house stories with spooky sounds. You did a great job, grabbing the attention of the reader.
Taft ELC Costume Parade
Sparkle and Cocoa loved seeing all of you trick or treating during the Costume Party. So did I!

Thank you to Mrs. Horwath, our community reader. We loved learning about garden food webs. Now we know it isn't only people who are munching veggies from the garden. Plants are feeding insects, birds and other animals too.
Cassandra's baby sister, Ella is already one month old. Do you have any babie brothers, sisters or cousins in your family? I would love to hear more about them.
Our goal this year is to make new friends and learn a lot. During the first week of school, we will be playing a balloon game to find out what we have in common. Do you like dogs or cats? What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? My favorite subject is Science. What is yours?
Be ready to share some facts like these about yourself as well as stories about your summer vacation. In the meantime, I hope you will use the links above to find out more about what to expect in Grade Two. I will see you soon!
